Mobility Worldwide is an organization dedicated to providing mobility via a three-wheeled, all terrain wheelchair, operated by hand power. Built by a faith-based, non-profit, volunteer organization, Mobility Carts are delivered at no cost to people in developing countries who have lost the use of their legs due to birth defects, disease, diabetes, spinal cord injuries, landmines, or war.
At Mobility Worldwide, our mission is to provide Mobility Carts—specialty wheelchairs designed to offer mobility and independence—to individuals with disabilities in poor and underdeveloped countries who have no other means of transportation. We operate a manufacturing site where dedicated volunteers construct these life-changing carts, which are then distributed at no cost to qualified recipients. Through education, we raise awareness about the need for these mobility aids, while also recruiting volunteers and donors to support our cause. Funds raised go directly toward the construction and delivery of the Mobility Carts, which are distributed through our network of international agencies and sponsors to ensure they reach those who need them most. With each cart, we aim to restore mobility, dignity, and hope to individuals in need.
According to the World Health Organization, over 80 million need mobility assistance worldwide, and the unfortunate truth is that many have limited access to tools that could improve their quality of life. We are working to change that at Mobility Worldwide San Antonio. In many developing countries, access to mobility aids like wheelchairs is limited or nonexistent, leaving millions of people with disabilities isolated and unable to participate in daily activities such as work, school, or even basic errands. Without the ability to move freely, individuals often face severe social and economic barriers, resulting in exclusion from their communities and limited opportunities for independence. The need for wheelchairs in these regions is critical—not just for physical mobility, but for the empowerment they provide, offering people with disabilities a chance to improve their quality of life, access education, earn an income, and engage fully in society. Providing wheelchairs can have a profound impact, enabling individuals to break free from the cycle of poverty and exclusion while promoting dignity, independence, and equality.
